A plentiful supply of well washed fruits and green foods should be given.
Your cockatiel will require sand and grit to help it digest food, and cuttlebone to help keep its bones strong and beak sharp. Fresh Drinking water should also be available, chlorine free wherever possible. If your tap water is high in chlorine, leave it to stand for a few hours for the gases to escape before use. Replace twice daily to prevent bacteria build-up, and position drinker to avoid contamination. Strongly salted or seasoned human foods (cheese, butter, chocolate and biscuits) should not be given as these can cause diarrhoea and obesity.
